Shelagh News
– The local Conversational Irish group (Ciorcal Comhrá) is holding a Gathering for Seachtain na Gaeilge in Naomh Malachi clubrooms on Friday, March 13th. Traditional Irish music session from 8.30pm. Light refreshments served. Doors and bar open from 8pm. All welcome. Bígí linn. Admission is free. Contact Claire 042 9377137 for further details.

- The Annual Pat Gogarty Charity 5km Fun Run/Walk on St Patricks (March 17th) morning. Assemble at Bellurgan soccer pitch at 9am. The Run/Walk starts at top of hill at 10am. Shelagh National School
– The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme provides a free year of early childhood care and education for children of pre-school age. The Department of Children and Youth Affairs stipulates that children are eligible for the ECCE scheme if they are aged over 3 years 2 months and less than 4 years 7 months on 1 September of the year that they will be starting. Any parents who would like to enrol or get information on the Early Childhood Care and Education Scheme (ECCE) in Scoil Bhríde Shelagh and wish to seek information or enrolments for ECCE Pre school year, Sept 15/16/17. - Congratulations to the confirmandi who represented their school so well in St Patricks Church, Crossmaglen on February 28th.

- All the children dressed up for World Book Day on Thursday, March 5th. Great fun was had by all.

- Seachtain na Gaeilge will be celebrated next week.

- School will close on March 16th and 17th for St Patricks Day.

Shelagh Youth Club
Tuesday: Drama – Unfortunately the Class is now full. Adult Zumba Class 8pm-9pm
Thursday: Kids Zumba class 6.30pm-7.30pm.
Friday night club: Over 9s club every second Friday.

Naomh Malachi CLG
- The Naomh Malachi players and management team were groomed, waxed, bleached and/or shaved on Saturday night as they took part in a fundraising initiative. A great night was had in the club with many grown men very teary-eyed! Congratulations to all who took part and to those who sponsored. A donation will be made to the refurbishment of the IT room in Shelagh National School over the coming weeks.

- Best wishes to Kevin Rogers and Lisa Cumiskey who have emigrated to Australia, and to Niall Bird who has departed for London.

- Louth GAA Easter Camps take place from 31st March – 2nd April for ages 6-12. Camps will take place in Dowdallshill. Cost €15. Contact Micheal (087 2695290).
